Digital Shamans Series

From the earth shaman in the undergrowth to the figure receiving a signal in a turquoise urban canyon—none of these figures look at the viewer. They are elsewhere.

Intervention instead of Esotericism In times of crisis, the market for spirituality grows—often a pure monetization of uncertainty. The series refuses this commercial gloss. The figures are not illustrations for wellness seekers, but positions of a contemporary shamanic art: healing of fragmentation, resistance against algorithmic isolation, and reconnection to the only known planet that enables life.

The Fight against the Median Generative models tend statistically toward the median: they produce standardized bodies and pleasing surfaces. I work against this averageness through complex prompting and the uploading of my own works. I am interested in the deviant, the aged, the glitch in the system. I painted only what triggered something within me. I view the AI results as a distillate of a digitized collective consciousness. That this "knowledge" is based on millions of images used without compensation for the creators, I understand not only as a technical inadequacy, but as a deliberate economic decision by tech corporations.

Physical Weight The digital template is only the trigger, not the work. In the painting process, I translate the fleeting AI vision into physical substance—brushwork, the body of color, the gesture of the hand on the canvas. Oil on canvas is slow, enduring, and sensual—a haptic fact that remains when the screen goes dark.
